Xtremepush has appointed betting industry veteran Steve Talbot as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) as the CRM supplier looks to build out its presence across the regulated sector.

Talbot spent the last three years with The Pools, first as its chief commercial officer and then as COO.

Prior to that, he worked four years, from June 2019 to May 2023, for LiveScore Group as director of retention and loyalty.

Talbot also spent three-and-a-half years, between February 2016 and June 2019, as 188Bet’s head of marketing.

He first joined the igaming industry in June 2010 as Entain’s head of customer experience and CRM, before moving to Coral in March 2013.

Previous experience includes stints with ITV, Virgin Media, Natwest and TUI Group.

Now with Xtremepush, Talbot will be tasked with sharpening the firm’s global brand positioning and articulating the value of its CRM and engagement proposition to partners.

The new CMO said it was a “combination of the breadth and depth of the product suite” that attracted him to the role.

Last October, Xtremepush secured €12m in a flexible funding round from investment partner AshGrove Capital, with the capital earmarked to support the firm’s growth ambitions and acquisition strategies.

Commenting on the hire of Talbot, Tommy Kearns, Xtremepush co-founder and CEO, said: “As Xtremepush enters its next phase of global growth, Steve brings a powerful combination of commercial, marketing and operational experience.

“Having led businesses and functions within the highly competitive and regulated markets we are targeting, he understands the challenges our customers face and what it takes to deliver meaningful commercial outcomes.

“Our growth has been driven by a great product suite, a genuine focus on customer outcomes and deep expertise in the industries we serve. Steve understands that proposition and will play an important role in translating it into a compelling global brand.”

Last November, Xtremepush appointed Ciaran Lacey as chief technology officer, with the former Microsoft head replacing Kevin Collins, who stepped into the COO role.
