GamProtect is set to officially launch with an activation event in London next week, with operators invited to attend the workshop to better understand the scheme.
GamProtect, the UK’s single customer view (SCV) solution, has been in development for the past four years and will allow licensed operators to share customer data.
That data will help inform firms when to take greater steps in terms of customer intervention and engagement, including potentially closing accounts.
The launch event will take place next Wednesday, 11 September, at Prospero House in London.
The Betting and Gaming Council, which has backed GamProtect, has invited operators to the event to garner a deeper understanding of the project and what benefits it will provide to individual businesses.
The event will also be attended by the Gambling Commission’s executive director Tim Miller, with speakers including current GamProtect users and other key industry figures.
The activation will also include a workshop to demonstrate how the SCV works in practice, including addressing data protection and safer gambling responsibilities.

Last July, the Information Commissioner’s Office gave the greenlight for the sharing of customer data among operators.
