Sportradar has inaugurated a new office in São Paulo, Brazil, in anticipation of the official start of the country’s regulated sports betting and online casino sector on January 1, 2025.
This initiative by the New York-listed company aims to enhance its presence in the region and forge stronger connections with its clientele.
With nearly ten years of experience operating in Brazil, Sportradar has collaborated with operators and local sports federations during this period.
The firm has also been recognized as one of the Brazilian government’s four integrity partners, joining forces with Genius Sports, the International Betting Integrity Association, and the Sport Integrity Global Alliance.
On November 7, during a call with analysts following the company’s third-quarter earnings report, Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl disclosed that the company had incorporated 13 clients into its managed trading services in the region.
Koerl expressed confidence in the growth prospects for Sportradar’s products in the market, emphasizing the need to complement and expand its product offerings. He highlighted numerous opportunities in betting engagement tools and advertising, stating that the company is ready to meet the demands of a challenging and competitive environment.
The establishment of the new office in Brazil will further extend Sportradar’s influence in Latin America, supplementing its existing operations in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Eduard Blonk, Sportradar’s chief commercial officer, highlighted that the new office represents an extension of the company’s longstanding dedication to Brazil. He remarked on the vast potential for growth, spurred by Brazil’s large population and the widespread popularity of sports, especially football, a domain in which Sportradar excels globally.
Additionally, Blonk underscored Sportradar’s commitment to upholding the integrity of Brazilian sports as part of a broader mission to promote a responsible and sustainable industry within a regulated framework.
Earlier in May, Sportradar launched a new tech hub in Vienna, Austria, housing more than 400 employees within its expansive 4,500-square-meter facility.
