Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has extended its primary distribution deal with HBA Media. Under a renewed three-year agreement, HBA Media will continue to promote and distribute RMG’s key British, Irish, and international horse racing events globally.
Henry Birtles, CEO of HBA Media, expressed his satisfaction: “We’re thrilled to renew our partnership with RMG as their main distributor for British, Irish, Dubai, and Bahrain horse racing.”
Since beginning in 2021, the partnership has significantly boosted media rights revenue and broadcast exposure. It has also facilitated the development and introduction of Crown Jewels Racing (CJR).
Birtles further explained: “Our collaboration delivers a remarkable lineup of events, creating an unmatched schedule of prestigious racing festivals across various continents. This is promoted globally under the Crown Jewels Racing brand, providing a comprehensive solution for broadcasters and platforms.
“With a doubling of media rights revenue in the last rights cycle, we aim to explore new regions, broaden our network of over 40 established broadcasters, and enhance commercial success for Federations by advancing production quality.
“We’ll also continue distributing World Feeds of RMG’s broader racing portfolio beyond the CJR brand.”
CJR offers a year-round premium sports package featuring 18 globally recognized race days, including seven events managed by RMG, along with enhanced production quality and the CJR Fantasy Game.
Nick Mills, CEO of Racecourse Media Group, emphasized: “Our racecourses have gained significantly increased international exposure and revenue from rights fees, thanks to our collaboration with HBA Media.”
He added: “Working with HBA on launching CJR has been especially beneficial. Networks now have a streamlined source for horseracing rights, ensuring a consistent calendar showcasing the sport’s finest moments.”
The RMG events broadcasted by HBA Media include prestigious races such as the Dubai World Cup Carnival, Cheltenham Festival, Randox Grand National Festival, Betfred Derby Festival, Qatar ‘Glorious Goodwood’ Festival, Sky Bet Ebor Festival, Irish Champions Festival, QIPCO British Champions Day, and Bahrain International Trophy.
Mills concluded: “The CJR events offer audiences premium sporting excitement, lifestyle content, and entertainment, providing a platform to mutually enhance reach and rights fees.”
