Playtech has revealed that non-executive director Anna Massion is set to leave her role in February next year to “pursue other opportunities.”
Massion, who has been a member of the company’s board since April 2019, notified the firm on 26 November about her decision to resign following the completion of her three-month notice period.
Playtech’s announcement regarding her impending departure also indicated that the company will soon initiate the search for a suitable replacement.
Brian Mattingley, the non-executive chairman, reflected on Massion’s time with the company and extended gratitude for her service.
He stated: “On behalf of the board, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Anna for her valuable contribution since her appointment in 2019.
“She has demonstrated utmost commitment and dedication during a period of significant transformation for the company. This year included the proposed sale of Snaitech and record-setting results. We wish her success in her future endeavors.”
Massion is a seasoned professional in the igaming sector and is anticipated to maintain her roles on the boards of several other gaming companies, including serving as a non-executive director of American Gaming Systems (AGS), a position she has held since June 2019.
In March 2022, Massion was appointed as a non-executive director of Australia’s Betmakers Technology Group. She later joined the board of Gaming Realms in the same capacity eight months after that.
Between 2014 and 2019, Massion worked as a senior analyst for PAR Capital Management from its Boston offices. Prior to that, she was the director of gaming, lodging, and leisure research at Hedgeye Risk Management from November 2008 to February 2014.
Meanwhile, Playtech has experienced significant changes over the past months, notably with the sale of its Italy-focused Snaitech operation to Flutter for €2.3bn in September, a transaction slated to conclude in Q2 2025.
Playtech CEO Mor Weizer emphasized that the sale will simplify the company’s business model as it shifts its focus toward B2B ambitions.
