Mayor Emmanuel Porcq opens the Cabourg casino with Patrick Partouche

New location houses 100 slot machines, 31 electronic table games, and live table games

After two years of construction, the Partouche group officially opened its Cabourg casino in Calvados on May 18.

The casino was relocated from its historic seafront location to a new 2,754 m² building, constructed by the municipality for €10m. It is situated in a leisure area adjacent to a water park, the Garden Tennis club, and the sports and community facilities of Cabourg 1901.

This new location houses 100 slot machines, 31 electronic table games, and live table games, including English Roulette, Blackjack, and one Ultimate Poker table, marking a new addition to Cabourg. There are also two cash game tables.

Stéphane Gilquin, the casino’s Managing Director, said to Journal des Casinos: “Following this very intensive move, which took place overnight after the closure of the old location, our new 1,150 m² gaming room now houses 100 slot machines. The casino also features a smoking area with four electronic English roulette stations, 12 booths, and two video poker machines.”

The establishment’s restaurant, accessible without having to go through the identity check area, offers 50 seats, with an additional 20 or so seats available near the gaming bar, where snacks are offered. Two seminar rooms complete the offerings of this new establishment, whose architecture is designed to resemble a casino chip.

The new casino, which offers its visitors more space and a more diverse range of games, and now boasts 150 free parking spaces, has already proven popular.

Gilquin added: “Customer feedback has been excellent. And this is confirmed by the number of visitors. In the old casino, we set a record of 1,800 visitors, achieved on a Saturday in August. In this one, we have already surpassed the 2,000 mark several times. We even set a new record of 2,500 visitors. While we are aware that this may be due to the novelty factor, these figures, which have been consistent since the opening, are nonetheless significant,.”

The new concession runs until 2034.
