This report provides a comprehensive analysis of player behaviour in Latam, specifically focusing on the online markets of Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The data is based on a 12-month average of over 7.2 million active players per month, tracking key performance indicators from March 2025 to March 2026. This analysis evaluates betting patterns in casino and sports, such as player engagement, financial commitment through deposits and betting, and long-term retention trends across the region.

Key findings and insights

  • Brazil’s rebound: After a slow first quarter, Brazil is showing recovery in both casino and sports betting, and an increase in engagement metrics.
  • March 2026 engagement: All three countries either improved or held steady in key relationship metrics, with Brazil rebounding in activity days, Colombia improving in activity and retention, and Peru ending with a strong retention recovery.
  • Peru’s engagement versus betting: Despite an increase in the retention rate and maintenance of activity days, Peru is showing a phase of decline in betting amount, which can be considered a normal market adjustment after a period of strong increases.
  • Different opportunities: Brazil seems to be the most loyal and engaged market, Peru looks like the strongest high-value wagering one, and Colombia seems the most promising improving market. Each one of these countries holds different opportunities that require specific strategies from operators.

Average monthly total deposit amount

For half of the period, Brazil maintained the largest volume of deposits, until Peru experienced a strong surge and began to compete for the top spot in the ranking. Colombia remained well below both countries, but it showed the clearest upward progression, rising steadily from the low-$50 range into the mid-$80 range by early 2026.

March 2026 brought a modest increase for Brazil from $165 to $170, a slight decline for Colombia from $86 to $84, and a more pronounced decline for Peru from $174 to $160. Despite the declines, all three countries ended the month with levels above their monthly averages, signalling a positive trend for the region.

Overall averages:

  • Brazil:
    Current month (March 2026): $170
    12-month trailing average: $155
  • Colombia:
    Current month (March 2026): $84
    12-month trailing average: $62
  • Peru:
    Current Month (March 2026): $160
    12-month trailing average: $140

Monthly average casino betting amount

Peru clearly led the region in casino wagering, with a major spike in December 2025, probably due to holidays and end-of-the-year bonuses. Brazil and Colombia tracked much closer together, often moving within a similar band, with Brazil slightly ahead on the trailing average.

In March 2026, Brazil rose from $530 to $562, Colombia increased from $490 to $507 and Peru declined from $750 to $732. Even with that decline, Peru still ended ahead of the other two countries, confirming its dominant position in casino betting. The recovery of Brazil and Colombia in March is noteworthy, following the expected declines at the beginning of the year.

Overall averages:

  • Peru:
    Current month (March 2026): $732
    12-month trailing average: $762
  • Brazil:
    Current month (March 2026): $562
    12-month trailing average: $529
  • Colombia:
    Current month (March 2026): $507
    12-month trailing average: $496

Monthly average sports betting amount

Over the period, Brazil and Peru were the two dominant sports betting markets, with Brazil holding a slightly higher 12-month average, but Peru is achieving higher year-over-year growth compared to March 2025 levels. Colombia remained well below, though it showed steady improvement over time.

From February to March 2026, Brazil increased from $364 to $378, Colombia rose from $144 to $149, and Peru fell from $421 to $369. Brazil ended the period with more stable sports betting performance, Peru remained highly competitive but more volatile, and Colombia continued to strengthen without yet closing the value gap.

Overall averages:

  • Brazil:
    Current month (March 2026): $378
    12-month trailing average: $348
  • Peru:

Average number of activity days per active player

Brazil is the clear leader by a wide margin, consistently staying in the 11- to 14-day range and far above the other two countries. That signals the most engaged player base in the region. Peru was relatively stable, generally holding between seven and eight days, while Colombia showed the strongest improvement trend, climbing from just above five days at the start of the period to above eight days by the end, gradually closing the gap with Peru and even moving slightly ahead in the latest month.

Looking at the latest month, March 2026, Brazil increased from 12.5 to 13.8 days, Colombia rose from 7.9 to 8.3 days, and Peru had a minor decline from 8.2 to 8.1 days. Brazil’s recovery is interesting, as it has returned to levels close to the highest observed at the beginning of the period, suggesting an annual cycle of increases between September and May, but it is Colombia that draws attention, as it was the country that closed with the highest annual increase.

Overall averages:

  • Brazil:
Current month (March 2026): 13.8 days
    12-month trailing average: 12.9 days
  • Colombia:
Current month (March 2026): 8.3 days
    12-month trailing average: 7.1 days
  • Peru:
Current month (March 2026): 8.1 days
    12-month trailing average: 7.6 days

Average active customer retention rate

Throughout the period, Brazil led in retention, but Peru and Colombia are close behind. All countries demonstrate good stability, with some dips in specific months, followed by a recovery soon after. Comparing March 2026 with February 2026, Brazil was flat at 81%, Colombia improved from 70% to 74%, and Peru rose from 70% to 76%. The latest month ended on a positive note for all three markets.

Overall averages:

  • Brazil:
    Current month (March 2026): 81%
    12-month trailing average: 79%
  • Colombia:
    Current month (March 2026): 74%
    12-month trailing average: 68%

    12-month trailing average: 71%
