  • UM News
  • Posted 18 hours ago

This report analyses key igaming metrics, comparing trends in Brazil against the global average. The analysis covers the 12-month period from May 2025 to May 2026 and is based on data from an average of 5.5 million active players per month in Brazil and 30 million globally. The metrics examined include deposit amounts, casino and sports betting volumes, player growth trends, customer retention rates, and player activity levels.

Key findings and insights

  • Monetisation opportunity: Brazilian players are much more active than the global average. Local operators don’t necessarily need to focus on acquisition, but rather on attracting more robust deposits and betting value through relevant offers and personalised incentives.
  • Loyalty advantage: Brazil closed May 2026 at 82% retention, well above the global rate of 71%, suggesting that Brazilian players are more likely to remain active and stay loyal once impacted by a brand.
  • Sports push: Despite seasonality, sports betting still has a lot of room for growth, especially during local and international events such as the World Cup and finals of major championships like the NBA and the Champions League. Operators who track preferences and build personalised customer journeys will increase monetisation during these periods.
