**Martin Burlin’s Departure as EAG Chairman**

After serving as Chairman for 15 years, Martin Burlin has announced he will step down from his role in January next year. This announcement was made by Bacta, the UK’s amusement and high-street trade body, which also organizes the annual Entertainment, Attractions and Gaming Expo (EAG) events.

Burlin will preside over his final EAG Expo as Chairman from January 14-16, 2025, after which he plans to officially retire.

In addition to his role at the EAG, Burlin was a President of Bacta during the 1980s, marking just one of his key contributions to the industry spanning over four decades.

Reflecting on his career, Burlin remarked, “I had the privilege of attending ATEI as a young man and later served as Chairman of ATE Ltd. Launching EAG in 2010 with a talented team was a career highlight, helping create a respected showcase for the UK and European industry.”

He added, “I am particularly proud of the growth of EAG. In 2025, the event will feature two new co-located shows: the Social Immersive Entertainment Expo and the London Casino and Gaming Show, offering fresh revenue streams for operators and manufacturers alike.”

Nick Harding, a former Bacta President with a distinguished industry background, will take over from Burlin. Burlin expressed confidence in Harding’s ability to elevate the EAG Expo further.

Bacta President John Bollom extended his gratitude to Burlin, noting the significant achievements of the EAG under his leadership. He highlighted Burlin’s effective response to the challenges faced by the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic and the strategic integration of additional shows to enhance the EAG experience.

Bollom concluded, “EAG is the jewel in Bacta’s crown, and Martin’s leadership has been instrumental in its success.”
