LiveScore Group has recruited Conrad Bugeja, previously a key figure at LeoVegas Group and a director at FairPlay Sports Media, to lead their SEO efforts.
Bugeja began his journey in the igaming industry in October 2017 when he took on the role of SEO manager with Kindred Group. His career progressed swiftly, and by September 2019, he was promoted to lead the SEO team—a position he held for 10 months. He then transitioned to Catena Media, assuming the role of head of SEO, where he was responsible for both casino and sports SEO.
During his tenure at Catena, Bugeja crafted the SEO and content direction for several of Catena’s sports and casino segments, with a special emphasis on European, Middle Eastern, and African markets. However, his stint lasted just a year before he moved on to become head of SEO at LeoVegas Group, where his career spanned nearly three years.
In March 2024, Bugeja made another move to FairPlay Sports Media, previously known as Oddschecker Global Media, taking on the role of global SEO director. There, he developed SEO strategies for multiple brands, including SuperScommesse and WhoScored.
Bugeja has now left FairPlay Sports Media after nine months to take the helm as head of SEO at LiveScore Group. In his new capacity, he will oversee both the SEO and app store optimization (ASO) teams for the group’s sports media and operator brands.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Bugeja expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to start as head of SEO with LiveScore Group. It’s a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with top-tier brands and shape strategy across both media and operator brands. Working with LiveScore, LiveScore Bet, and Virgin Bet truly combines the best of both worlds.”
He further stated: “I’m eager to strengthen collaboration with the outstanding teams across LiveScore Group. I’m optimistic about the future and impressed by the agility, structure, and warm welcome from everyone involved.”
This appointment follows the operator’s recent announcement about the withdrawal of LiveScore Bet from the Netherlands. The decision was prompted by the Dutch government’s impending tax increase, poised to rise from 30.5% to 34.2% in January 2025, with a further hike to 37.8% in 2026.
