Dylan Slaney, the CEO of Light & Wonder’s igaming division, has stepped down from his role after seven years with the supplier.
The outgoing exec, who originally joined the company when it was known as Scientific Games, initially served as senior vice-president of gaming for the SG Digital arm between January 2018 and October 2021.
Slaney was serving as executive vice-president of gaming for NYX Gaming Group before the company was acquired by Scientific Games for $631m in 2017.
In October 2021, he was named CEO of the igaming division, with Scientific Games proceeding to rebrand as Light & Wonder after spinning off its legacy lottery business to Brookfield Business Partners in March 2022.
Taking to LinkedIn, Slaney said the motive behind his exit was a “personal decision in its purest form”.
He added: “It’s been an incredible journey leading this business over the past seven years, and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
“Thank you to Light & Wonder for putting your trust in me as CEO and for the support to invest and grow the igaming business.
“To the team at Light & Wonder igaming, your dedication, passion and relentless ‘never settle’ drive inspired me every day.
“I am confident that the best is yet to come for you and the business you have created. Thank you for the belief. Thank you for the memories.”
Slaney did not reveal where he will move to following his departure, but did say he was “looking forward to writing the next chapter”.
According to Light & Wonder’s Q3 earnings report, the igaming division had a 6% year-on-year rise in revenue to $74m.
The business said the increase was driven by “continued momentum in North America and Europe, as well as strong content launches”.
