The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has revealed there were 76 suspicious betting alerts in Q2 2026, up from 69 the year prior.
The figure represents a 10.1% year-on-year (YoY) jump when compared to Q2 2025, and an 8.6% quarter-on-quarter increase from the 70 flagged in Q1 2025.
The body’s latest integrity report said the 76 alerts came from nine sports, with football (25) and esports (16) most reported to the relevant authorities. In fact, esports alerts jumped 128.6% YoY.
Alerts related to football fell from 27 the year prior, with tennis also falling from 14 to nine.
There were also four alerts for greyhound racing in Q2, yet none the prior year, while horseracing had one in 2025 and no reports 12 months later.
The integrity body noted that Europe reported the largest share with 25 alerts (33%), followed by South America with 17 (22%).
In its latest report, the IBIA also focused on Canada, noting that “competitive regulation moves betting onshore”.
The body said Ontario’s channelisation “rose sharply” following the market opening in April 2022, as gross gaming revenue rocketed from 5% in 2022 to 85% a year later, before stabilising at north of 90% ever since.
The data was provided by H2 Gambling Capital, a leading gambling intelligence business EGR’s parent company, Burghclere, recently acquired.
Earlier this month, Alberta flicked the switch on its market, regulating sports betting and online casino. The IBIA noted the province is “forecast to follow a similar trajectory” to Ontario.
IBA membership includes more than 200 betting brands, while the organisation each year monitors more than 1.5 million sports events and customer activity responsible for more than $300bn (£225bn) in global betting turnover.
The report read: “IBIA has invested in athlete education to help players understand the integrity risks, meet their responsibilities and protect the competitions they represent.”
