High Roller Technologies has appointed former PredictIt strategy chief Flip Pidot as the prediction market operator’s new chief business officer.
Pidot will take on the newly created post having recently concluded a stint as chief strategy officer at PredictIt. He previously served as a market curator between 2014 and 2019.
PredictIt was established by John Aristotle Phillips in collaboration with the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2014, initially as a non-profit educational project.
The prediction market only handles political event contracts, as opposed to other markets – including sports and crypto prices – the likes of Kalshi and Polymarket offer.
High Roller, which initially focused on VIP consumers with its eponymous brand and Fruta, is due to launch ROLR prediction markets brand this year.
In his new post as chief business officer, Pidot will be responsible for overseeing new “strategic partnerships” for the ROLR brand and identify expansion opportunities. Need to mention
Pidot is also the CEO and co-founder of the American Civics Exchange and was the founder of Sharp Square Capital.
An email sent to consumers last week said the launch should happen the week commencing 12 October.
High Roller quickly clarified in a the business still had no specific launch date in place, but hoped to go live in October.
A beta version of the platform launched in September. High Roller has a partnership in place with Crypto.com to support its offering.
In August, the company added Thomas Scaria as chief product officer, another newly created position.
High Roller went public in October 2024. The firm’s stock skyrocketed this year after it announced plans to move into prediction markets.
Pidot said: “Prediction markets have reached a point where the quality of the customer experience and the strength of commercial relationships will increasingly determine which businesses succeed.
“High Roller has assembled an experienced team and a strong foundation for ROLR.
“I look forward to helping connect that platform with partners and participants, broaden its reach and build lasting value for the company.”
Seth Young, High Roller CEO, added: “[Flip] understands what attracts participants, how well-designed markets work and what commercial partners need to succeed.
“That experience will be valuable as we bring ROLR to a broader audience, expand our partnerships and build a business positioned for sustained growth.”
