GeoComply has promoted from within for a new CFO and COO as the geolocation supplier continues to revamp its C-suite this month.
Marco Stotani will take on the finance brief while Mahmoud El Shennawy will serve as COO.
Both appointments come as GeoComply promoted Steven Vo to become the supplier’s chief technology officer earlier this month.
Stotani, a former Deutsche Bank associate and vice-president, joined GeoComply in October 2021 as director of corporate development.
He was promoted to chief business officer in March 2025. GeoComply’s former CFO, Lindsey Drake, departed last year to rejoin AWS.
El Shennawy joined GeoComply back in 2020 from Paysafe, initially working in the firm’s business development division.
He became senior director of business development in September 2022, before shifting to head of special project in January 2025.
El Shennawy took on the chief of staff role in September last year and will now serve as COO.
Stotani will be based out of New York and El Shennawy will be working from Vancouver.
Alongside the trio of C-suite appointments, company stalwart Vladyslav Serzhantov has been promoted to vice-president of product and innovation.
Serzhantov joined GeoComply back in 2017, then left for a brief stint at software firm SoftBistro. He returned to the supplier in September 2018.
GeoComply was founded in 2011 by Anna Sainsbury and David Briggs. Last year, former FanDuel CEO Kip Levin was brought in as the supplier’s new boss.
As part of the appointment, Sainsbury stepped up to become executive chair.
On his promotion, Stotani said: “To Anna Sainsbury and David Briggs – thank you for your trust from the day I joined in 2021.
“You took a chance on me five years ago, and you’ve kept believing in me at every step since. That means more than I can put into words.
“To Kip Levin – your mentorship and leadership over the last 18 months have shaped me as a leader and as a person.
