BetWright has renewed its partnership with Norwich City FC, remaining as the club’s principal partner and men’s back-of-shorts sponsor for the 2026-27 season.

The challenger brand will continue to feature across Norwich City’s partner ecosystem, social media and advertising boards at Carrow Road.

The partnership was initially established in September last year for the 2025-26 season and was hailed by the operator as the biggest sponsorship deal in its history.

BetWright, the trading name for Gambling Commission-licensed Onyx Gaming, has held UK bingo, casino and sports betting licenses since November 2024.

Its football portfolio includes stadium naming rights with Leyton Orient, with the east London’s club’s Brisbane Road ground known as the BetWright Stadium.

Carrow Road’s advertising capacity has recently been expanded to include two permanent boards within the City Stand.

Yarry Troshchey, chief marketing officer at BetWright, said: “Year one was about introducing ourselves to the Canaries faithful. Year two is about building on it.

“We’ve learned a lot about what resonates with this fanbase, and we’ve got bigger plans for the season ahead – on the community side especially.

“Norwich is a club that gives back to its city, and we want our partnership to reflect that on and off the pitch.”

While analysts have indicated smaller operators are likely to reduce marketing spend in response to the UK’s recent tax hikes, BetWright CEO Dave Matthews stressed in March that growing brands like his needed the exposure.

With the voluntary ban on front-of-shirt deals in the Premier League effective from the 2026-27 season, the Championship has become an increasingly attractive sponsorship option for gambling brands.

The BetWright Norwich renewal comes days after SBK became principal betting partner for Millwall, while other deals inked this summer include Entain’s Coral brand becoming front-of-shirt sponsor for Birmingham and Midnite securing shirt deals with both Middlesbrough and Wolves.

Brands remain active in the Premier League, despite the ban, with deals moving to other areas such as sleeve and training shirt. Agreements struck this pre-season include Betano moving from front-of-shirt at Aston Villa to become sleeve sponsor as well as signing up as official betting partner of Tottenham Hotspur earlier in July.
