Welcome to the Weekend Report, where iGB looks at the news you may have missed across the last few days. This week, the Dutch regulator pledges nearly €2 million to a gambling harm initiative, a Veikkaus deputy CEO exits and Scientific Games pens a “Fast & Furious” deal.
Dutch regulator commits to gambling harm partnership
Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has committed almost €2 million in funding to a new gambling harm prevention programme.
The Early Detection of Gambling Harm Partnership aims to identify gambling harm earlier and prevent further problems. Trimbos Institute, the Dutch Association of Addiction Specialists, the Municipal Health Service and the Dutch Debt Assistance Route have all pledged their support to the project.
The organisations will work with addiction treatment institutions, municipalities and peer support groups to improve overall support. Funding from KSA will help finance these collaborations.
“With this partnership, we permanently bring together knowledge, healthcare, debt counselling and local partners,” KSA Chairman Michel Groothuizen said. “This makes it easier to find help, and players can get the support they need more quickly. This is an important step towards better consumer protection.”
Veikkaus details management reshuffle
Veikkaus has announced changes to its management team, with Deputy CEO Velipekka Nummikoski to take on a new role.
Nummikoski, who was responsible for public relations, will leave the management team at the start of January 2026. He will take on new project duties at the group’s headquarters.
Veikkaus said it had no plans to appoint a new deputy CEO. Public relations management will be transferred to Tuomo Puumala, in addition to his other responsibilities of data, artificial intelligence, customer service and corporate responsibility.
“I would like to thank Nummikoski for many years of good management teamwork for the benefit of Finnish gambling companies and, through that, all Finns,” CEO Olli Sarekoski said. “His contributions, including to the new Gambling Act, have been very significant.”
Gaming Corps welcomes new CFO
Gaming Corps has announced the appointment of Fredrik Geijer as its new chief financial officer.
Geijer will take on the role with effect from 21 February. He will bring with him more than two decades of senior financial leadership and international audit experience.
After Geijer joins, current CFO Mikael Bäckström will take on a role focused on broader strategic support within the business.
“Gaming Corps is entering an ambitious next phase of growth, and reinforcing our financial leadership is central to delivering on that strategy,” Gaming Corps CEO Juha Kauppinen said. “Fredrik’s international experience and proven track record make him an excellent fit for this journey.”

Sportsbook provider Altenar has struck up a new partnership with the Betico brand.
Under the deal, Altenar will provide Betico with its fully managed sportsbook solution. This, Altenar said, will include customised betting options, advanced risk management, platform management and compliance controls.
Altenar added that the partnership will strengthen its position in global markets. Betico is a new addition to the market, having only launched this year.
Vagelis Bairlis, senior sales manager at Altenar, said: “We’re proud to support Betico’s growth as it enhances its offering with our premium sportsbook services, designed to deliver cutting-edge features and a seamless experience for players.”
Scientific Games lands ‘Fast & Furious’ deal
Scientific Games has signed an exclusive licensing agreement for the “Fast & Furious” film franchise.
The agreement covers the development of games for lottery players in both the US and Canada. This will cover omnichannel content across digital and retail channels.
Scientific Games will work with Universal Products & Experiences to design games. These will include scratch, pull tab, draw, Fast Play, Keno, eInstant and second-chance games.
“Like one of the most iconic lines from the films says, ‘winning is winning’. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Universal Products & Experiences to deliver games that bring the excitement, intensity and heart of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise to lottery players,” said Tina Hoover, vice president of licensing for Scientific Games.
