Web International Series (WIS) has promoted Josh Camilleri Briffa to the role of chief people officer.
Briffa joined the affiliate in August 2024 as head of people, arriving from FUNNZ, where he held the same position from November 2022 to August 2024.
Prior to that, he spent two years at Casumo from October 2020 until November 2022.
He first joined the operator as senior people business partner before a promotion to talent development and acquisition manager in June 2022.
Briffa also spent four years with affiliate Catena Media as its global HR business partner, from September 2016 to October 2020.
It was his second role in the igaming industry after starting out with Konnekt in January 2014 as a recruitment specialist for tech and igaming.
Announcing his promotion, Briffa said: “Huge thanks to WIS for the trust and opportunity, and to Dominic Borg [CEO] and Paul Scheuschner [founder] for the mentorship and support along the way – I’ve learned a lot from working with you both.
“I’m also incredibly lucky to work with such an amazing people, office and legal team. This is very much a team effort, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without you.
“Looking forward to the next chapter – continuing to drive real value and evolving HR into a business function that creates tangible impact for both the business and our people.”
WIS was ranked 22nd in EGR‘s Power Affiliates 2025 rankings.
Borg stepped up to become CEO in October, having served as chief product and technology officer.
