Fresh from the announcement of the inaugural Gambling Book Awards, to take place at ICE in 2026, the organisers have added a ‘Trade Journalist of the Year’ category, for writers in the gambling industry B2B press.
The award gives recognition to outstanding journalism and quality writing seen in trade publications for the gambling industry, with the winner receiving an incredible cash prize of £4000, with a further pair of prizes to two runners-up of £500 each.
Co-organiser Fintan Costello said, “We love good writing at The Gambling Files podcast and felt that as an industry we are not recognising great journalism and writing from the front-line workers in publishing. So we created this award to show them the love they’re almost certainly not getting at home.”
The organisers will also be using their podcast – The Gambling Files – and website (www.thegamblingfiles.com) to promote the event alongside a dedicated website at www.gamblingbookawards.com, and are inviting nominations for journalists from industry members until the end of October.
