Ex-Yggdrasil CEO launches new slots studio
Independent slots studio EXCO Game Studio, founded by former Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist, has officially launched, with its first title set for release next week at Lisbon’s SBC Summit.
EXCO, short for Excommunicado, is looking to deliver as many as 30 slots in its initial roadmap, all of which focus on immersive gameplay and engagement that moves away from more traditional slots themes.
Elmqvist, EXCO Game Studio CEO, said: “I’m going to be honest, the industry has become a bit tired and lazy, stuck in a cycle of uninspiring product rollouts, sequels and reskins, which is why we’ve launched EXCO.”
“Our approach to development is that we won’t ship what we won’t play. We’re looking to stand out with our artistic flair and superb mechanics, and we’ve been working for some time to create an exciting roadmap of games that will genuinely shake things up. Come and see us on our stand in Lisbon next week to see what all the fuss is about.”

Jani Kontturi, head of games at SkillOnNet, said: “We’re constantly expanding our content offering to give our operator partners the very best in entertainment. TaDa Gaming has quickly established itself as a studio that delivers variety, quality and innovation, and we’re delighted to bring its titles to our platform.”

Simon Temple, Abelson Sports COO, remarked: “Partnering with Kero Sports allows us to bring the full power of our Football Player Markets to their growing network of sportsbook operators with zero integration barriers.”
Tomash Devenishek, Kero Sports CEO, added: “Partnering with Abelson is a direct response to market demand. Our partners have consistently asked for Kero to expand into player props, and while our focus remains on building best-in-class micro markets, this partnership allows us to complement that strength with a best-in-class props solution – delivering the breadth of markets our partners want without losing sight of our core vision.”

Svante Sahlström, Thunderkick chief commercial officer (CCO), said: “It’s our mission at Thunderkick to go deeper, not wider, in 2025. That means forging meaningful, lasting relationships in target markets as opposed to securing as many commercial deals as possible.”
Paraskeva Smirnova, Betty casino operations manager, added: “Betty’s USP has always been our drive to build a slot portfolio with the very best titles from the industry’s most creative suppliers. Thunderkick’s passion for slot development is there for all to see, and the introduction of its games to our casino further elevates the consumer experience.”
