The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has handed Serbian tennis player Stefan Milićević a 24-year suspension for a series of match-fixing violations.
The 29-year-old was charged by the governing body for fixing six matches between 2022 and 2024, which included five matches he was competing in himself.
He also attempted to fix a further six matches during the same time period.
In addition to his own actions, Milićević was found to be recruiting or attempting to recruit multiple professional players to do the same, resulting in several other players fixing matches.
The ITIA opened its investigation into Milićević, who reached a career-high ranking of 1,388, earlier this year.
Milićević “did not engage in or cooperate with the investigation, despite seven separate ITIA attempts, through multiple channels, to raise a response from the player”, the agency confirmed.
The ITIA eventually issued Milićević with a Notice of Major Offence on 24 September after completing its investigation, which again the player failed to respond to.
As well as the suspension, which runs from 9 October 2026 to 8 October 2050, Milićević has also been issued a €70,000 (£59,077) fine.
During the suspension period, he will be prohibited from playing in, coaching at or attending any events sanctioned by World Tennis, the WTA, ATP, Grand Slams or any national association.
Milićević’s near quarter-of-a-century-long suspension is the lengthiest handed out to a player by the ITIA so far this year, eclipsing the 20-year ban given to Jasel Beltre for breaching anti-corruption rules relating to 11 matches between March 2022 and November 2024.
In the second quarter of 2026, the ITIA handed out nine separate sanctions for integrity-related violations.
The body also flagged 10 alerts for suspicious betting activity during Q2 across ATP men’s World Tennis Tour and women’s World Tennis Tour events.
These alerts made up 12% of all tip-offs for suspicious betting activity received by the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) during Q2.
In 2025, the IBIA recorded 74 alerts for suspicious tennis betting activity, equivalent to 25% of all alerts and second behind only football (110).
