SYNOT Group has promoted Katarína Polách Klčovská to become new group CEO in a move hailed as an “important milestone” for the B2B firm.
Klčovská, a 13-year stalwart at SYNOT, most recently served as CFO at its SYNOT Games subsidiary.
Group CEO is a newly created role, as the firm looks to strengthen its “executive management structure”.
Klčovská, who officially took on the role on 1 May, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, expanding internationally and ensuring “long-term growth”.
She joined SYNOT in 2012 in the finance team, eventually overseeing operations in Central and Southeastern Europe and the US before stepping up to CFO.
SYNOT Group, which was established in 1991 and initially focused on eastern Europe and the Baltics, now employs around 4,000 staff and operates in more than 40 countries.
It is licensed in the UK, Sweden, Belgium, Greece and Peru among other geographies.
SYNOT’s operations span land-based and online gaming, including casino, sports betting, lottery and poker.
SYNOT Games has operator partnerships with Betano, Betsson, LeoVegas Group, SkillOnNet and Fortuna Entertainment Group.
The company has also expanded outside of the gambling sector with the Czechia-based firm counting ventures across property management, luxury cars and tourism investments in its portfolio.
Speaking on her appointment, Klčovská said: “I greatly appreciate the trust that has been placed in me. Today, SYNOT stands on solid foundations, and my goal is to continue building on them.
“Delivering on the shareholder’s strategic objectives remains my highest priority. I am committed to further strengthening the SYNOT brand, enhancing the group’s international position and creating the conditions for its sustainable long-term growth, whether through the dedicated work of our teams, the effective use of modern technologies, M&A activities or potential optimisation.
“At the heart of this approach will be disciplined performance management, growth in key indicators and systematic capital creation.”
Ivo Valenta, SYNOT founder and owner, added: “I am confident that [Klčovská] will bring extensive experience gained during more than 13 years within the group.
“Throughout her career at SYNOT, she has held numerous specialist and management positions and has actively participated in the implementation of strategic projects across the group.
“Her professional expertise, long-standing experience and in-depth understanding of the group’s operations make her the natural choice for this position.”
