Stats Perform has broadened its official media data collaboration with Football DataCo (FDC).
The enhanced agreement designates its Opta sports data division as the premier insights provider for FDC tournaments, including the Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, League One, League Two, and the Scottish Professional Football League alongside the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
Chief Commercial Officer of Stats Perform, Alex Rice, stated, “Opta is dedicated to gathering the highest caliber of sports data coupled with our proprietary AI technologies to produce compelling insights, offering products that our clients find easy to use and which captivate their fans.”
Specifically, Stats Perform’s Opta remains committed to collecting and delivering precise official statistical data for FDC events to leagues, teams, venues, sponsors, match centers, scoreboards, digital workflows, apps, and publications worldwide, ensuring fans enjoy premium data-driven experiences across the leagues.
Meanwhile, as Opta continues serving data to FDC competition broadcasters, it will enhance coverage through on-screen graphics, studio analysis, and commentary teams, thereby boosting viewer engagement, duration, and sponsorable content.
Rice further commented, “We take great pride in being selected by FDC to continue our exclusive long-term collaboration with them and the leagues and clubs they embody. As fans ourselves, it is always exhilarating to witness the vital role our Opta data and AI play in amplifying the narratives of the globally cherished teams and players.
“Our next phase with UK football includes providing official insights, promising even richer broadcast and media narratives about star players and unsung heroes, delivering more enjoyable experiences for fans and sponsors. We eagerly anticipate these ideas coming to fruition.”
Starting the 25/26 season, Opta and its OptaAI tools will deliver sophisticated AI-powered, data-focused insights for FDC tournaments, seamlessly integrating into regular coverage.
This initiative aims to enable broadcasters and media to unlock new levels of fan comprehension regarding every play and player, enhancing the on-field excitement and enriching storytelling.
Adrian Ford, General Manager of Football DataCo, said, “Stats Perform and its Opta team have been pivotal in supplying Official Data for UK football for 15 years, consistently raising the standard to deliver insights to football fans.”
“We have already initiated innovative plans to further boost the allure of UK football. We look forward to the impact these strategies will have on our broadcasting and media partners and their engagement with fans of our leagues, teams, and players globally.”
