Stake launches new star-studded marketing campaign for World Cup

Stake has unveiled its latest football-based global marketing campaign across various social media platforms ahead of the World Cup kicking off later this week.

The ‘It’s All At Stake’ campaign features several of the operator’s ex-footballer brand ambassadors, including Sergio Agüero, Patrice Evra, Eden Hazard and Iker Casillas.  

The video shows Casillas with other guests at a nightclub, Aguero overseeing a five-a-side football match, Hazard coaching a group of players during a match, and Evra getting an ‘I love this game’ tattoo.

Launched across YouTube, Instagram and X, the campaign coincides with the start of the World Cup, with the first fixture taking place on Thursday 11 June at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. 

Kicking off the tournament, Mexico, one of the host nations alongside the US and Canada, will take on South Africa.

A Stake statement read: “Designed to capture the highs and lows experienced by fans throughout the competition, the video combines humour, nostalgia and the personalities of four of the game’s most recognisable figures.  

“Each scene reflects a different aspect of football culture, from grassroots matches and coaching sessions to the rituals and superstitions that surround major tournaments. 

“The creative also showcases a more playful side of the Stake brand, leaning into culturally relevant storytelling and light-hearted moments that resonate with football audiences worldwide.” 

Earlier this month, Stake launched its product in Argentina as it continued its rollout across regulated markets worldwide. 

The Argentina launch followed debuts in Mexico, Denmark, Peru and Colombia in recent months.  

Stake director Jarrod Febbraio added: “We wanted to create a campaign that reflects the excitement, anticipation and passion that supporters feel throughout the competition while also bringing together some of football’s most iconic personalities. 

“Having Sergio Agüero, Iker Casillas, Eden Hazard and Patrice Evra involved gave us the opportunity to create something entertaining, relatable and unmistakably football. The result is a campaign that celebrates the moments, emotions and conversations that make moments like this such a unique cultural occasion. 

“At Stake, we aim to put our millions of customers at the heart of sport’s biggest moments. Whether fans are watching from the stands, at home or with friends, this campaign reinforces what it’s like when It’s All At Stake.”
