Sportingtech's suite of World Cup Widgets

The suite comprises Events Widget, Groups Widget and Long-Term Bets Widget

Sportingtech has launched a dedicated suite of sports betting widgets ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, designed to help operators deliver a tournament-defining experience for their players, turning tournament traffic into sustained engagement.

Developed in-house, the suite includes three widgets designed around the World Cup player journey:

Events Widget is a one-tap access to match markets, shortening the path from discovery to bet placement. The Groups Widget is a quick navigation to group fixtures, teams and relevant markets whilst the Long-Term Bets Widget gives direct routes to outrights and tournament specials to drive higher-value engagement.

The launch comes at a pivotal moment for the global sports betting industry. The 2022 FIFA World Cup generated an estimated $35bn in wagers globally, and with the 2026 tournament expanding to 104 matches – 62 per cent more than in 2022 – alongside the continued opening of regulated betting markets, the commercial opportunity for operators has never been greater.

With operator competition for attention at its most intense during major tournaments, Sportingtech’s widget suite is designed to help operators capitalise on that opportunity – not just by offering World Cup markets, but by creating a sportsbook environment built for the tournament. Research shows that over 80% of player attention happens above the fold, and smart widget placement has proven to boost engagement by more than 500 per cent. By surfacing key markets where players naturally look first, the widgets reduce friction in the betting journey and drive higher engagement and bet volumes throughout the tournament window.

All widgets are built with mobile-first, feature intuitive navigation and are fully customisable, allowing operators to adopt either the official World Cup colour palette or their own brand identity, ensuring a coherent and premium experience for their players.

Tommy Molloy, Chief Product Officer at Sportingtech, said: “The World Cup is the single biggest commercial opportunity in the sports betting calendar. Our operators deserve a product that rises to the occasion.

Because we work closely with our partners, we understand exactly what they need. These widgets were built from those conversations, reducing friction, surfacing the right markets and delivering an experience designed for the tournament.

The influx of casual bettors during the World Cup is a genuine retention opportunity. The operators who capitalise on it won’t be the ones who shouted the loudest. They’ll be the ones whose experience kept players coming back.”

Sportingtech’s World Cup widget suite is available now for operators ahead of the tournament’s opening match on 11 June 2026.
