Pragmatic Play’s stranglehold on the EGR Slots Tracker came to an end in February after long-term rival Book of Dead by Play’n GO swept into first place.

Book of Dead leapt from fourth to the top spot, displacing previous leader Big Bass Bonanza by Pragmatic Play.

NetEnt’s Starburst slipped from second to fourth, while Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Splash remained resolute in third.

While Pragmatic Play’s dominance in the rankings based on number of titles continues, it represents the first time the studio has not led the rankings since November 2023.

There was little change in the rankings elsewhere last month, with Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush being the biggest mover, jumping from 23rd to 18th.

The supplier’s Chilli Heat game ticked up from 20th to 16th in what was the second-biggest move of the month.

Spribe’s Aviator was the highest-ranking title from January (11th) to fall out of the top 20 completely in February.

Elsewhere, eGaming Monitor (EGM) data revealed the top-ranking new slots released since 1 December 2024.

Games Global’s Gold Blitz Ultimate took the top spot in February following its 19 December release.

Pragmatic Play’s Bigger Bass Splash (3 February release) and its stablemate Aztec Gems Megaways (16 January) took the silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the new games rankings.

Play’n GO’s Crystal Hall was the title with the latest release date (13 February) to make it into the top 20.

EGM, EGR’s data partner, tracks casino sites to help collate the monthly slots rankings. It analyses game pages of more than 3,600 casino sites globally, with the European rankings being based on the number of game tiles found for each game across operator sites in regulated markets.

More than 1,300 sites were covered by EGM in Europe for the February rankings.

EGM limits its tracking to just the main casino homepage of each site, with the tracker taking in slots, instants, scratch cards, slingo and crash games but excluding table games, live games, video poker, video bingo and others.

For the February rankings, EGM tracked 17,145 games from 439 studios in 30 European regulated markets including the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.
