The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) has hit BS Nordic with a warning and injunction for failing to provide a telephone number on its website.
BS Nordic is the licence via which Betsson runs the betsafe.se platform in Sweden.
The SGA found BS Nordic lacked a phone number, email address and corporate registration number on the website following a review.
The platform was also missing required information about a licence period and risks associated with gambling.
Although the operator did add some of the missing information, it failed to correctly list a phone number – SGA regulations state a licensee’s telephone number must be visible on its respective homepage.
In its place, a ‘call me’ function was added, which the company said it considered met the “requirement to have information about telephone numbers on the homepage”.
A ‘call me’ function allows players to leave their number if they want be contacted.
In the SGA’s assessment, it was determined: “BS Nordic has failed in several points regarding the information obligation.
“Both clear information about the risks of gambling and clearly visible information about the licensee’s email address are important from a gambling responsibility perspective.
“The violation cannot therefore be considered minor or excusable. However, BS Nordic has largely fulfilled its responsibility to provide information to players and has corrected the identified deficiencies shortly after the Swedish Gambling Authority’s observations.
“In summary, the Swedish Gambling Authority considers that the violations are less serious and that BS Nordic should therefore be given a reprimand.”
BS Nordic has until 19 December 2025 to add the relevant telephone number to its site.
