Four gambling companies will soon be allowed to offer online casino games in Schleswig-Holstein which has given private providers a licence for the first time in Germany.
Schleswig-Holstein’s state government has allowed BluBet Operations Limited, Cashpoint Limited, Skill On Net Limited and Tipico Karlsruhe Limited to launch online gaming. With the permission, Schleswig-Holstein is fulfilling the mandate in the Interstate Treaty on Gambling to steer illegal gambling into legal channels.
Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack (CDU) said: “By allowing an attractive online offer, we want to prevent gamblers from taking advantage of illegal offers if, for example, they also want to play the games known from casinos online.”
