Saratoga to open Happy Valley with 600 slots and 30 tables
Saratoga Casino Holdings has been granted a gaming license by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. SCH now holds gaming licenses for non-tribal casinos in four states, including New York, Mississippi, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
The latest venture, Happy Valley Casino, is expected to open in April with 600 slots and 30 table games. The Category 4 or mini-casino is being developed at the Nittany Mall in College Township, close to the State College.
“As a third-generation, family-run business with more than 80 years in the horse racing industry and 20 years in casino, hotel, and entertainment operations, we are extremely proud to receive our Pennsylvania gaming license,” said Sam Gerrity CEO of SCH. Once open, Happy Valley Casino is expected to create 350 permanent jobs, generate nearly $20m in annual wages, contribute $70 to $90m to the regional economy, and provide over $1.5m in local tax revenue each year.
Saratoga Casino Holdings (SCH) owns and operates Saratoga Casino Hotel, in Saratoga Springs, NY; Saratoga Casino Black Hawk, located in the historic town of Black Hawk, CO; and Magnolia Bluffs Casino Hotel, situated along the Mississippi River in Natchez, Mississippi.
