Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG) is set to launch its own standalone online casino app in four US states as it gears up to expand its presence in the gambling sector.
The company, which is a challenger brand to the two most dominant US operators FanDuel and DraftKings, is also expected to roll out a web version of the separate casino product, as per Business Insider.
While the business’ main division centres around the sales of sports merchandise, such as jerseys, trading cards and collectibles, its betting arm continues to grow.
Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is now available online with its sportsbook in 22 states plus Washington DC.
Though the bulk of its offering has been linked to its sportsbook, FBG has regularly bolstered its igaming vertical with new slots titles, as well as blackjack and roulette games.
Addressing the several competitors FBG will have to battle with for market share, Conor Grant, president of gaming for Fanatics Betting and Gaming, told Business Insider: “We’ve got a big task on our hands, We’re a challenger brand, but the owner of this company loves nothing more than a fight and to prove people wrong.”
Grant also detailed how the operator’s new casino app, launching in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan and New Jersey, will target a slightly different profile of consumer compared to its sports betting division, with the latter gaining more engagement from the mid-to-late 30s male demographic, while igaming tends to attract an older age group of female players.
As part of the promotion surrounding the new online casino app, FBG is expected to run a campaign to give away $2m (£1.5m) in FanCash loyalty rewards over the course of May and June, which can be used to secure casino credits, bonus bets or merchandise.
The new app will receive a marketing push in the form of TV, online and audio adverts.
“We want to be the preferred destination for slots players and the US casino players,” Grant added. “We want to give them a really special experience with really compelling rewards and unrivalled loyalty.”
FBG’s new app will host slots, blackjack, roulette, jackpots and video poker, while the breakdown of its igaming handle – around two thirds of which stems from table and live games – is expected to change with the new additions.
In other Fanatics news, the operator ranked fourth in the latest edition of EGR’s US Power Rankings 2025, climbing two spots from its sixth-placed finish last year.
