QiH Group has secured the services of former LiveScore Group managing director James McCarthy, appointing the experienced industry figure as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
McCarthy’s role, his first at C-suite level, will see him tasked with spearheading the affiliate’s strategy across new markets and different verticals.
Based out of the firm’s London offices, McCarthy will lead QiH’s marketing team of 17, though that number is set to increase to 27 in the coming months.
As per QiH’s announcement of McCarthy’s arrival, he is also expected to oversee “double-digit growth” via the company’s marketing channels and commercial relationships.
Prior to his move to QiH, McCarthy’s spent nearly four years at LiveScore Group.
Having arrived in late 2021 as head of digital, he soon rose up the ranks to be named director of digital one year later, before departing the group as managing director.
His time at LiveScore Group followed a seven-month tenure as global director of digital for Skilling, a Scandanavian fintech business.
McCarthy’s longest stint at one firm was at Betway Group, where he spent just shy of six years between September 2015 and June 2021, departing as head of performance media.
His first foray into the industry came in June 2011, working for Betfair as marketing manager, before being promoted to senior status in the same role.
On his new role, McCarthy said: “It’s such a pleasure to join a company that has grown so thoroughly and organically in licensed markets.
“QiH Group is a big name in the igaming affiliate space, and I look forward to managing the continued growth in diversified sectors and locations.”
Jamie Walters, CEO of QiH Group, also welcomed the company’s newest addition to its C-suite, adding: “QiH has moved from strength to strength recently, growing and adapting with the igaming markets in the UK, Europe and North America.
“Welcoming someone as experienced and talented as James onto our team is another strong step for us. I welcome his expertise and am delighted to see where his marketing leadership takes us.”
