QiH Group has completed its C-suite hiring spree with the addition of Spotlight Sports Group exec Simon Winder as CFO.

The exec, who will start his new position today, 1 November, joins the affiliate from the Racing Post parent company where he worked across two roles since June 2017.

Initially joining SSG as financial controller, Winder was later promoted to CFO and group finance director in January 2023.

Prior to his stint at SSG, he served as the group financial controller for the Football Association (FA) from July 2011 to November 2016.

Winder’s extensive financial experience has seen him work for the Royal Institute of British Architects, as interim finance director between January and May 2017, and Freesat, where he was finance director and company secretary between February 2008 and July 2011.

He also spent time as Chrysalis Music Group’s group finance manager, from April 2003 to January 2008, and as group financial controller of food service firm Bidcorp Group, from July 2000 to April 2003.

At QiH Group, Winder will be tasked with setting out long-term finance strategies and supporting the company’s growth.

Jamie Walters, QiH CEO and co-founder, noted that Winder’s arrival marked the end of the affiliate’s C-level reshuffle as the firm continues to build for the future.

He said: “We’ve made no secret of the fact that our business is growing fast. Full-year 2023 delivered 75% growth in both revenue and profit and 2024 is on track to achieve the same again.

“Simon is an integral part of the formula we need to support this growth and to help take QiH Group into the next phase of our business.

“Massive thanks to our incredible HR director, Andrea Talreja, and her incisive and insightful executive search that has brought us the support at C-level that we need to forge ahead.”

Winder commented: “After a wonderful and rewarding seven years with Spotlight Sports Group, it’s great to be moving to a young company with the reputation for innovation, growth and compliance that QiH Group has.

“Having watched the affiliate’s progress from the outside these past four years, it will be extremely fulfilling to be part of the action.”

Winder’s appointment follows several recent C-suite hires this year. In April, former Lottoland head David Murphy joined the affiliate as chief marketing officer while Andrew Lee took up the newly created position of COO.

September saw the arrival of Sachin Saxena as chief technology officer.

QiH Group will release its first-ever quarterly report next week.
