Online approval should open door for Pateplay to VLT discussions with land-based tribal operators

2026 promises to be a landmark year for Bulgarian games studio Pateplay, the latest brainchild of one of the founders of EGT and Amusnet.

Having taken more local markets by storm, the online business is on the cusp of New Jersey approval. Next up is their transformation into land-based casino slots on its Phenom cabinet.

David Block, CEO of Pateplay’s American interests, said: “We really are very close now to New Jersey approval. We’ve done everything we can, and it’s just a matter of time now. Once approved for New Jersey, we expect Michigan and Pennsylvania to follow quite quickly. We’re poised to enter Ontario, too. On the land-based side, we intend to begin working with tribal gaming operators, and once approved, we expect to roll out quite quickly. Our entry into North America is a strategic and long-term commitment.

“In terms of the games, we can offer the land-based sector the exact games catalogue as the online operators, as our team has the technology to adapt online to land-based content extremely quickly. We currently have over 100 online games on offer with the team releasing two new games every month.”

The company is designing fast-paced, mobile-optimised games that cater to the preferences of Gen Z players. This includes shorter play sessions and designs that keep players engaged through rewards, features, and fast action. At ICE, it was showing a range of games from its Sun Link range, boasting the brightly coloured fruit symbols and extravagantly designed characters. PatePlay Regal Jackpot is a proven effective engagement and retention tool with unique mechanics, triggered randomly. Once activated, 15 crowns will be displayed. Once the crowns are visualized, the player needs to reveal 3 identical characters (faces of the girls, which present the different jackpot levels) to unlock the corresponding Jackpot amount and additionally have a chance to win Mystery Extra Cash Rewards in the form of cash prize spheres.

Interestingly, Pateplay’s top markets are Brazil, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia and Armenia, but Northern Europe is now a focus with Italian certification recently secured

Its spread across eastern Europe is impressive with entry into Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is now preparing for market regulation in Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, and Denmark. Whilst Brazil is its biggest market in Latin America, it has made inroads into Argentina and Colombia.

At ICE, Pateplay was also showing its latest range of Promo Tools for its online games portfolio.

These include Spinfinity Rush and Spin-till-Win stand out as powerful engagement features designed to turn every spin into part of a more exciting and rewarding journey. These tools add momentum, purpose, and sustained excitement across Pateplay’s entire slot portfolio.

Spinfinity Rush is a structured, multi-level system where each level unlocks

sequentially. Built to support different player segments and operator objectives, the mechanic is fully configurable. Each level is defined by a fixed bet size and time window set by the operator. During the active period, players aim to win as much as possible within these parameters. Once a level ends, the next one unlocks automatically with higher stakes and greater potential rewards – creating a dynamic, escalating experience that remains fully under operator control.

Spin-till-Win takes a more direct and intuitive approach. Once a minimum bet requirement is met, the feature activates and remains live until a winning combination occurs. Players can spin at their own pace, with anticipation building on every round. The mechanic is simple, engaging, and highly effective at encouraging longer play sessions while maintaining a clear and rewarding objective.
