This report covers average deposit amount, casino and sports betting amount, activity days and active customer retention rate across Brazil, Colombia and Peru for the 12-month period ending August 2026. All figures are based on Optimove’s proprietary igaming data, drawn from an average of 7.2 million active players per month across the three markets.

Key findings and insights

  • Retention decline: Active customer retention rate fell across all three Latam markets in August, with Colombia and Peru each posting their largest single-month declines of the trailing window. This variation is likely related to the lack of continued engagement among casual players who entered the system for the World Cup finals.
  • Rising spend: The retention decline came alongside rising betting amounts, with all countries showing a relevant increase in average deposit amount and sports betting amount. This demonstrates once again what was found in the World Cup Full Tournament Report: a massive influx of casual players who wager less than the average spend per player, which is now returning to its normal level.
  • Player behaviour implication: The pattern across Latam points to a necessity of pushing loyalty; operators may need to pair the current betting momentum with retention-focused campaigns to convert August’s activity into sustained engagement.
