Openbox Holdings has completed its acquisition of Gibraltar-based supplier Boldplay in an undisclosed deal as the business looks to diversify its operations.
The agreement will see Openbox add Boldplay’s product offering to its gaming division, Openbox Gaming, expanding its portfolio.
Based in London and founded in 2021, Openbox Gaming supplies igaming content mainly to the Asian market due in part to its exclusive agreements with major regional suppliers KX Gaming, MP Gaming and V8 Gaming.
The business was founded by former BetGames head Richard Hogg, who serves as CEO.
Boldplay, which was established in 2019, creates and develops various online casino games such as slots, video bingo and table games.
In addition to Gibraltar, the supplier holds licences in the UK, Malta, Michigan, Romania, Peru and other key markets.
The studio has partnered with tier-one operators across Europe, Latam and the US, including the likes of BetMGM, Grosvenor Casinos and Sportingbet.
The acquisition will see Openbox integrate Boldplay’s games onto its platform immediately, with updates and enhanced player experiences expected to follow in the near future.
The deal will also see key members of Boldplay’s development team join Openbox to ensure “continuity in the creativity and innovation” of the product output.
According to the company, the deal marks a “significant milestone” for Openbox Gaming.
