The University of Iceland Lottery has installed NovoVision

NovoVision introduced at all 19 UIL locations promptly during ongoing operations

Following a public tender, Novomatic has been selected as the provider of the new CMS for The University of Iceland Lottery (Happdrætti Háskóla Íslands) UIL.

For the first phase, NovoVision will include a wide range of functions as the solution of choice, including device billing, TiTo, AML, Business Intelligence and the NV smart Staff app, as well as the necessary IT infrastructure for all UIL locations. Further system functions are to be added at a later date. The University of Iceland Lottery was founded in 1933 with the aim of financing the university’s buildings as well as the purchase of research equipment and other equipment. The company has a license to operate three types of lotteries in the Icelandic market: the traditional class lottery, which has been in place since its inception, instant scratch cards, and around 500 gambling machines, which are currently operating in 19 locations across Iceland. Lotteries are extremely popular in Iceland for raising funds for charitable purposes.

As a responsible player in the Icelandic gambling market, UIL has launched a new platform for all locations to improve operational efficiency while ensuring responsible gambling practices.

The system was introduced at all 19 UIL locations promptly during ongoing operations and with minimal disruption to the players. In addition to the many new features on the operator side, the high level of system integration now allows lottery customers to have their tickets paid out online directly to their bank account via the UIL Players’ App.

Fabian Schnötzinger, Market Coordinator NBS, said: “This was a very special project that led to immediate improvements in ongoing operations. It was a very positive experience for us to gain a deep understanding of the requirements on site and to implement the integration together with the UIL team. We knew that NovoVision would generate significant added value in several areas. The expertise and high level of commitment of the UIL team also made this project special: they addressed topics openly, gave quick feedback and set aside time for implementation in their agendas. This reliability and the practice-oriented approach were real success factors. I look forward to working together in the next phases of the NovoVision implementation.”

“We are pleased to announce our cooperation with Novomatic on this project,” says Bryndís Hrafnkelsdóttir, CEO of UIL. “Gaming terminals are an important part of our businesssiness, and this technology will give us better access to information, help us operate our gambling offering responsibly and improve the gaming experience.”

She continues: “The integration of the NovoVision platform went smoothly thanks to the effective planning and excellent cooperation between UIL and Novomatic . This platform offers features that help us make informed decisions without compromising our commitment to responsible gambling. In the future, we see numerous opportunities to expand our service offering and develop new solutions, including the upcoming introduction of electronic loyalty cards. With NovoVision, we are well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers while remaining true to our focus on responsible gambling. This new platform is a key element of our strategy to improve our operations and support our mission in the gaming market.”
