Michigan has produced another big-time lottery winner, with a recent Lucky For Life prize draw fetching nearly $400,000 to one lucky retiree – Kathy Forquer, 67, who scooped the massive payday off a single ticket.

The win originally occurred on Tuesday, February 10, with the numbers securing the prize being 13, 18, 25, 27, and 30. The ticket was purchased from the Borders Corner Store, 7024 E. Pickard Road. Borders Corner Store, which is quite the storied little store.

Since 2023, the venue has sold four winning tickets with prizes of more than $100,000, making it, in a sense, one of the luckiest lottery vendors in the state.

Forquer was excited to have secured the right combination, resulting in a $390,000 payout, which she has chosen to claim as a single sum, rather than go for the $25,000-per-year option

Sharing her excitement about the win, she explained: “I was a regular Lucky For Life player, and I bought this ticket up in Mount Pleasant when I was visiting my sister. I checked it at 6 a.m. the morning after the drawing and thought I was having a heart attack when I saw I’d won $25,000 a year for life!”

Her money will help her make certain improvements to her lifestyle, too, as Forquer will be buying a new car first, with the rest of the money put away for rainy days. Forquer is also the final winner of the game, now replaced by the Millionaire For Life game as of March.
