The Michigan Gaming Control Board issued cease-and-desist letters to six gaming operators accused of targeting Michigan players without proper licensing. The operators in question are Crypto Slots, NitroBetting, NewVegas, Las Vegas USA Casino, Grand Rush Casino, and Slotgard Casino. They were given a 14-day notice to stop all activities concerning Michigan-based users or face potential legal consequences.
**Henry Williams, Executive Director at Michigan Gaming Control Board, stated:**
>”These sites were attempting to exploit Michigan players while operating outside the law. We take this seriously. When unauthorized operators offer games without regulation, Michigan players are left exposed—and we will not tolerate it.”
The six companies were found to be offering casino-style games and sports betting services aimed at Michigan residents without state authorization, violating various state laws such as the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Lawful Sports Betting Act, and portions of the Michigan Penal Code.
**Williams also noted:**
>”Unlike Michigan’s licensed operators, these sites offer no consumer safeguards. They’re not held accountable to anyone, and that puts players in a dangerous position.”
Players in Michigan who engage with these platforms risk participating in potentially unfair or rigged games, with no assurance of payouts, and lack legal protection in instances of fraud, data theft, or disputes over accounts.
In recent years, it has become increasingly common for US state regulators to dispatch cease-and-desist notices, with the Michigan Gaming Control Board being one of the active enforcers.
