Melco reports $6.4m Q4 revenue at City of Dreams Sri Lanka as ramp-up continues

Melco Resorts & Entertainment reported operating revenue of US$6.4m from City of Dreams Sri Lanka in the three months to December 31 2025, as the group continued to scale operations at its newly opened casino resort in Colombo.

The Hong Kong-listed operator, which launched the casino at City of Dreams Sri Lanka in August 2025, recorded an operating loss of US$9.062m for the quarter, reflecting the early-stage performance of the property and management services provided to the ultra-luxury Nüwa hotel.

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was negative US$3.9m, underlining that the resort remains in its ramp-up phase following opening. Melco said the property had nevertheless shown encouraging early signs in 2026.

Speaking on the company’s earnings call, Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho said the operator would continue to “progressively ramp up operations” at City of Dreams Sri Lanka and had seen “promising green shoots so far in 2026.”

US filings also showed that rent for the City of Dreams Sri Lanka integrated resort and casino totalled US$1.790m during the quarter. Melco leases the casino space from Waterfront Properties, a subsidiary of Sri Lankan conglomerate John Keells Holdings.

The casino occupies part of a 2.7-hectare site and offers 119 gaming tables, including roulette, baccarat and blackjack. Melco said it has invested Rs 30.2bn in equity and loan capital into City of Dreams Sri Lanka, in line with its commitment to contribute a minimum of US$100m to the capital-light development.

At group level, Melco reported profit attributable to the company of US$60.6m for the fourth quarter, compared with a net loss of US$20.3m in the prior-year period.
