Former Imagine Live CEO Matthew Charlesworth rejoins as Chief Development Officer, returning to focus on product innovation during a time of major growth.
Charlesworth stepped down from the CEO role in January 2025, citing the intense demands of the position and the need to reassess his work-life balance. His previous schedule, alternating between 3 weeks on-site and 3 weeks remote, had become unsustainable. However, he remained in close contact with new CEO Martin Martirosyan and stayed engaged with the company’s growth.
Under Martirosyan’s leadership, Imagine Live has doubled its number of operational live casino tables, from 50 to more than 100, and grown its team from around 500 to over 1,000 employees. The company is also preparing to launch a new live casino studio in Bucharest, Romania, further signaling its ambitions in the regulated European market.
In his new role, Charlesworth will get an opportunity to return to product development and innovation without bearing the management of a high-growth company on his shoulders. In his announcement, Charlesworth shared that he’s glad to be focusing on the aspects of the business he finds most rewarding, working with products and people he believes in.
Charlesworth brings over two decades of gaming industry experience to the role. His previous positions include Live Casino Manager at Paddy Power Betfair and Head of Live Casino at Entain. His expertise helped shape Imagine Live’s early success, and his return comes at a pivotal time as the company continues to expand internationally.
As CDO, Charlesworth will work closely with Martirosyan, who continues to lead operations and expansion, while Charlesworth zeroes in on shaping the company’s product roadmap and development strategy.
His return underscores Imagine Live’s focus on deepening its innovation capabilities while continuing its upward growth trajectory.
