LeoVegas Group has gone live with its in-house Tiger sportsbook in the UK, bringing the group’s proprietary sports betting technology to its fourth market.
The operator announced the launch of Tiger across the the BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK brands on Thursday, 6 August, replacing third-party sportsbook technology provider Kambi and giving LeoVegas Group end-to-end control of its UK sports betting stack.
The technology was developed after LeoVegas Group acquired Tipico’s US-facing sportsbook in 2024, which led to the Germany-facing operator exiting the market.
Adrian Vella, LeoVegas Group’s chief product and technology officer, described the UK launch of Tiger as “one of the most significant moments” in the operator’s journey to build a “world-class, proprietary sportsbook”.
James Derbyshire, the group’s sports director for UKI, called it “another huge milestone,” highlighting features such as odds boosts, partial cash-out and flexible combi betting as core to the UK product.
Tiger first launched in Denmark in July 2025, before rolling out across the group’s Nordic footprint in Sweden, going live on the LeoVegas brand in June 2026 having already powered BetMGM Sweden and GoGoCasino from April 2026.
The sportsbook also went live on BetMGM Brazil in January 2026, a year after market regulation in the country.
The ongoing rollout is central to LeoVegas Group’s push to operate as a self-sufficient operator less reliant on third-party suppliers.
Speaking on EGR’s Power Seat podcast earlier this year (see below), Leo Vegas Group CEO Mattias Wedar said the shift to proprietary tech was vital to the operator “controlling its own destiny”.
“Knowing that you have the ability to change and drive your company where you want to go is key,” he explained. “And if you if you have that ambition, I think controlling your ecosystem is important.”
In May, LeoVegas Group submitted licence applications with the Gambling Commission to allow for the launch of proprietary online casino games in the UK.
The operator’s Slammer Studios Limited subsidiary has pending applications with the regulator for a gambling software licence and a casino licence.
