**Kansspelautoriteit (KSA)**, the Dutch Gambling Authority, has introduced a campaign designed to increase awareness of gambling self-exclusion.
The initiative, named “Pack Your Life Again, Take a Gambling Stop,” is a continuation of KSA’s earlier self-exclusion campaign linked to the national **CRUKS** registry launched last year.
This new campaign primarily targets young adults who might be displaying problematic gambling behaviors. As a result, the campaign’s marketing efforts are largely directed towards social media platforms instead of traditional media channels.
The campaign features online videos and social media ads showcasing young individuals interacting in various social settings, highlighting the significance of personal relationships and the negative impact gambling can have on them.
CRUKS, operated by KSA, was initiated in 2021 as part of the Dutch government’s enforcement of the Remote Gambling Act (KOA) to control the online gambling industry.
According to regulations, online gambling operators are required to ensure that new players are not registered with CRUKS before allowing them onto their platforms.
Currently, the KOA is undergoing reforms, following a [recent review](https://sbcnews.co.uk/europe/2024/11/06/dutch-evaluation-koa/) conducted by the Research Agency for Justice and Security. This review highlighted certain deficiencies in the policies aimed at creating a responsible gambling environment.
The Dutch Secretary of State for Legal Protections, **Teun Struycken**, is leading these reforms, dedicated to resolving any issues in the license holders’ responsibilities as the new year approaches.
