Spotlight Sports Group (SSG) has partnered with Kindred Group’s Unibet to deliver Smart View racecards – becoming the first digital sportsbook partner of the product.

Kindred launched Smart View ahead of QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday. The brand explained how this allowed for Unibet players to ‘seamlessly toggle’ between traditional Racing Post racecards and Smart View for the flat-season finale.

Alistair Gill, Sportsbook and Racing Market Growth Manager at Unibet, commented: “Horse racing is vital to our UK business and it’s crucial for us to cater for all audiences.

“Smart View combines the expertise of the Racing Post with a modern, easy-to-read display that can engage bettors of all demographics.”

The firm states that it has drawn inspiration from popular video games like FIFA and Football Manager. The product is intended to simplify the traditional racecard, making it more accessible and intuitive for audiences.

By partnering with Spotlight, Kindred Group aims to continue expanding its presence in horse racing, which already includes sponsorship of the Unibet Champion Hurdle, as well as maintaining trainers Nicky Henderson and Richard Hannon as brand ambassadors.

“We are delighted to have Kindred as our first digital partner for Smart View,” added Sam Houlding, Managing Director B2B for Spotlight Sports Group.

“Our innovative racecard has shown great success at the major festivals this year and is another example of Spotlight Sports Group’s commitment to the future of sports betting.”

It was in May this year that SSG announced that Smart View would now cover international horse racing.

Houlding added at the time: “Using the Racing Post data we have been able to provide Smart View selections for every British and Irish race since launch, and the inclusion of International Racing from such as France, Australia, and the USA only expands the reach of this product.

“Smart View remains a unique and original way to read a racecard and appeals to all racegoers.”
