The Mint Gaming Hall has announced that a jackpot at its Kentucky Downs property in Franklin, Kentucky, has reached $1m, marking the first seven-figure gaming hall jackpot in the state since gaming machines were legalised in 2011.
The progressive jackpot is linked to two machines, Venus Gold and Fire of Horus, located on the main gaming floor at The Mint Kentucky Downs. Players must place the maximum bet to qualify for the prize.
The largest jackpot previously won at a Mint property was $780,307 at Kentucky Downs in 2019.
Jeff Miller, Director of Marketing at The Mint Gaming Hall, described the jackpot as a “major milestone” for the operator, adding that staff were eager to see the prize claimed.
The operator said the linked jackpot is isolated to the two participating machines and does not affect payouts across the wider gaming floor.
