Kaizen Gaming has announced the acquisition of AI-driven sports trading and analytics provider GameplAI for an undisclosed fee.

Under the deal, GameplAI’s features, including pricing and modelling, will be used to enhance Kaizen’s Betano brand’s proprietary capabilities across sports trading, player markets, and performance analytics.

In a statement, the operator said the integration of the technology would accelerate automation, enhance risk management, and boost its sportsbook’s user experience.

GameplAI, co-founded by Nikos Volakis and Graham Savage, secured £1.5m in a funding round at the start of 2024 and has former Paddy Power head Donal Barron as its chair of the board.

The firm will continue to operate its business with its founders and wider team in place.

Kaizen Gaming used Tekkorp Capital as its exclusive financial advisor during the deal, while Wiggin LLP served as legal advisor.

Christos Tzalavras, Kaizen chief product officer, said: “This acquisition reflects our long-term commitment to investing in technology and talent that enhances our core sportsbook capabilities.

“GameplAI brings deep expertise in AI-driven trading and analytics, and we are excited to integrate their proprietary technology into our ecosystem. What stood out to us throughout this process was the strong cultural alignment between our teams, a shared focus on innovation, execution and performance.

“We believe this partnership will meaningfully accelerate our ambition to amplify the world‑class sportsbook experience we deliver to customers around the world. An obsession for top-tier customer experiences unites GameplAI and Kaizen Gaming, and I could not be more excited about what is ahead of us.”

Savage added that the partnership allows for GameplAI to elevate its technology and expand its impact.

Volakis described the deal as an “exciting new chapter for GameplAI”. From the outset, it was clear our teams share a deep passion for innovation, precision and pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve in sports trading,” he said.

“With Kaizen Gaming’s scale and strategic vision, we are confident our combined capabilities will unlock new levels of automation, accuracy and performance.”
