Our client is seeking a passionate HR leader who lives and breathes Human Resources, ready to elevate the HR function to the next level. Based in Malta with a hybrid working pattern, you will partner with the COO and leadership team to shape strategy, develop people, and drive excellence across all HR operations. You will inspire your team, own HR initiatives, and act as a mentor and model for company culture. You will be the strategic partner to the leadership on all HR matters, translating data into action, managing budgets, and leading with initiative and care. You will cultivate a positive, inclusive culture and ensure HR practices align with business objectives. Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals; partner with management to ensure HR goals support company initiatives; nurture a positive, inclusive culture; lead and mentor the HR Assistant and Office Coordinator. Compliance & Employee Relations: Ensure compliance with Maltese employment law, GDPR, and workplace safety; liaise with UK HR advisory service for cross‑jurisdictional compliance; manage complex employee relations cases, grievances, and disciplinary processes; maintain privacy and data protection standards. Compensation & Benefits: Lead salary benchmarking, pay structures, and annual reviews; oversee bonus, commission, and payroll approvals for Malta and UK; analyse trends to inform policy and benefit design. Talent Management & Performance: Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance assessments, development plans, leadership coaching, and retention strategies; design programmes to strengthen leadership and team effectiveness. Systems, Reporting & Budget: Own and manage BambooHR, ensure accuracy of employee records; report monthly HR metrics to management; monitor data, identify risks, and manage the department budget; maintain organisation charts and HR templates. What you’ll bring is a minimum of five years in senior HR leadership roles, preferably in international environments. You are passionate about people, possess natural leadership, and communicate clearly. You combine strong initiative with solution‑focused thinking, and you have deep knowledge of Maltese employment law (UK knowledge is advantageous). Proficiency with HRIS systems—BambooHR is a plus—along with excellent English, collaboration, and conflict‑resolution skills. Please note: relocation is not offered.
