Client Accountant

Join our client as a Client Accountant in Malta. In this hybrid role, you will manage a portfolio of clients across industries, build strong relationships, and ensure compliant, high-quality accounting records and reporting. You will manage a portfolio of clients across industries, build and deepen relationships, and ensure high-quality service, efficiency, and client satisfaction. You will ensure that the accounting records for your portfolio of clients are maintained in line with applicable accounting standards. You will prepare VAT returns, tax returns, and management accounts, and liaise with auditors. You will manage your own workflows, workloads, and deadlines. You will lead projects or ad-hoc financial reporting tasks as delegated by management. You will liaise with relevant authorities on behalf of clients. You will assist teammates as their primary point of contact and review their work, ensuring clear communication and motivation in line with our client's vision and values. You will assist in onboarding potential clients. You will reassess and propose improvements to systems and processes as required. You will identify opportunities for growth. You hold ACCA qualification or an equivalent qualification. You have at least two years of experience in a client-facing role, ideally in a CSP environment. You are a team player with a positive attitude who can communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in another language is an asset. You have a strong command of IFRS or locally accepted accounting standards. You can work on your own initiative and in a team, with a proactive approach. You are well versed with Maltese VAT and tax legislation. You possess risk awareness and high integrity when handling confidential information. You have digital literacy and the ability to operate across multiple digital systems and tools. You have experience with cloud-based accounting software, particularly XERO; this is an asset. Note: This Malta-based role offers hybrid working; relocation is not offered.
