You will join our client as an Assistant Manager - Accounts in Malta, on-site with a close-knit finance team to support a diverse range of clients. You will be responsible for delivering robust financial control, clear reporting, and sound tax and compliance practices. You will lead day-to-day accounting operations, mentor a small team, and partner with management to provide timely insights on performance, liquidity, and risk. This role offers the chance to work within a global business network, while contributing to local operations. Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for a portfolio of clients. Perform bank reconciliations, ledger reviews, and account reconciliations for a portfolio of clients. Manage and supervise a small finance team, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and staff development. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions for a portfolio of clients. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for a portfolio of clients. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit processes. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records. Provide support and advice to management on financial matters as required. VAT reports, VAT files, and submit VAT returns. Prepare monthly payroll for a portfolio of clients, including the preparation and submission of all FSS documents to the relevant authorities. Qualifications and experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. Currently completing ACCA or equivalent, or a qualified accountant. Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
