The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has provisionally suspended two Dominican tennis players for potential breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP).
Jossting Cruz, 19, and Jasel Beltre, 24, have both been sanctioned pending the full consideration of charges under the TACP.
The provisional suspensions have been backdated to start from 30 May 2025, with both players electing not to appeal their respective penalties.
The length of the suspensions has yet to be disclosed by the ITIA.
According to the ITIA regulations, it is likely the players in question have “committed a major offence”.
If they hadn’t been provisionally suspended, “the integrity of tennis would be undermined and the harm resulting from the absence of a provisional suspension outweighs the hardship of the provisional suspension on the covered person”, as per the TACP.
Cruz reached a career-high singles ranking of 2,318 in May 2025, while Beltre remains unranked.
If the suspensions are confirmed, both players will be prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised by the members of the ITIA.
These include the ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon, USTA or any national association.
Cruz and Beltre’s provisional suspensions form part of the latest batch of penalties handed out by the ITIA this year.
Back in April, the ITIA sanctioned five French players for TACP breaches.
The offences in question linked back to a criminal case heard in 2023 involving a Belgian match-fixing syndicate.
The integrity body also suspended German player Mina Hodzic back in March for associating with a former player involved in “one of the most significant infiltrations of tennis by organised crime”.
