GRID, a company specializing in esports data, has been announced as the newest member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
This development marks GRID as the first esports-centric Associate Member, highlighting the industry’s dedication to upholding betting integrity.
The collaboration follows GRID’s acquisition of the IBIA’s Data Standards certification two years ago, aligning the esports company with efforts to create bespoke integrity protocols for the industry.
Moritz Maurer, the CEO of GRID, expressed, “Integrity is central to GRID’s mission. By becoming an Associate Member of IBIA, we are making a firm commitment to establishing esports as a trusted and respectable sector.”
He added, “This partnership bolsters our efforts in enhancing transparency, minimizing risks related to esports betting, and reinforcing operational practices across the board.”
Since 2018, GRID has been at the forefront of setting integrity benchmarks in esports, closely monitoring tournaments and identifying suspicious activities that could jeopardize data integrity.
These initiatives will now gain further momentum through collaboration with the IBIA. Both organizations will share insights and expertise on identifying potential threats and instances of match manipulation impacting esports competitions globally.
Khalid Ali, CEO of the IBIA, remarked, “We are thrilled to have GRID join us as an Associate Member. This partnership is significant for the esports sector, underscoring our dedication to extending our integrity efforts into emerging markets.”
He continued, “GRID’s proficiency in esports data oversight and integrity protocols is a vital addition to our collective aim to tackle betting-related corruption on a global scale.”
