Georgia Hails Latest Lottery Winner, Boosts HOPE Funding

The lottery detailed a win in its customary press statement on Thursday, saying that the ticket was bought at a convenience store in Fort Valley, and specifically at the Knoxville Tobacco Mart on 906 Knoxville St.

The player had already appeared at the lottery headquarters a day before the announcement on Wednesday, and had opted for the $535,398.06 lump sum payout. However, they have chosen to remain anonymous with no further details about them available.

The lottery used the opportunity to publicize the fact that proceeds from the lottery go to good causes, and specifically the HOPE scholarship and pre-k educational programs.

In a statement, the lottery added: “More than 2.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 2.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.”

This is hardly the only seven-figure win from the Georgian lottery recently, however.

A lucky player in Georgia has won a life-changing $2 million prize from a scratch-off ticket. This win came shortly after two other players won seven-figure prizes from different games.

Other winners in March included a $1.5 million win from the $1,500,000 Max scratch-off game as well as a $1 million prize from the 2nd Edition Billionaire Club scratch-off.
